It was explained that as the meeting was being held outdoors on the common the formal agenda below would be discussed at a minimum and the September meeting would cover any outstanding matters not covered by this meeting.
- Open Forum
- Flooding issue was raised by members of the public. Cllr James and Cllr Berry explained that this was a complex matter involving all the dykes, culverts and watercourses covering the Catforth and Inskip area, all which needed attention to allow water to flow freely. As these watercourses had become more and more impacted with vegetation, debris, stones etc it was no longer within the capability of landowners to do this work as they did not have the specialist equipment necessary. Historically this work had been carried out by the Rivers Authority latterly the Environment Agency but in recent years had not been carried out due to lack of funding and blockages have been allowed to build up. The culvert from the Tank Trap beneath Woods Lane is the responsibility of LCC and is blocked. It was decided that council write to all responsible authorities, LCC, EA, Wyre and copy in our MP Ben Wallace to arrange a site meeting with council and residents to conduct a full investigation of the situation to try to resolve this level of flooding recurring.
- Cllr Berry requested that Will Scott take on the responsibility of keeping the walkways on the common clear when they became overgrown and to do this outside of the bird nesting season. He agreed to this. In addition, the public footpath near Carr House Farm needed to be cleared of vegetation and, after inspection with Mr Dearnaley and Cllr Danby he also agreed to do this. Cllr Berry requested that Mr Scott provide a quotation for both of these tasks.

Council have written or spoken to all the residents and landowners in these areas (and others previously) and hope the situation will be resolved in the near future.
