LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(ST MICHAELS ROAD, BILSBORROW, PINFOLD LANE, INSKIP WITH SOWERBY &
HALL LANE, MYERSCOUGH, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order
under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the
effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of
highway in the Borough of Wyre:
i. St Michaels Road, Bilsborrow from its junction with Hall Lane for
approximately 390 metres in an easterly direction.
ii. Pinfold Lane, Inskip with Sowerby from its junction with Sowerby Road for
approximately 770 metres in a westerly direction to Long Wood Bridge.
iii. Hall Lane, Myerscough from its junction with Blackpool Road for its entire
length to its junction with St Michaels Road, Bilsborrow.

2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the
works.

3. The prohibitions will be operative nightly from 2100 hours to 0600 hours from
Monday 1st July 2024 until Monday 15th July 2024 or until completion of the
works within this period.

4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever
possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.

5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
St Michaels Road – Preston Lancaster New Road – Tarnacre Lane –
A586 Garstang Road – Raikes Road – Copp Lane – Lodge Lane –
Preston Road – Pinfold Lane

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow cabling and de-silting works to be carried
out by BT Openreach.
