Speed Measures – Inskip
May 13th, 2020
Inskip-with-Sowerby Parish Council endorses the online petition that has been raised on the Lancashire County Council online e-petitions portal:
Speed Measures – Inskip
We, the undersigned, petition the county council to introduce speed measures through the village.
Residents show concern that traffic and speeds through the village are dangerous.
This is throughout the entire village, including Carr’s Green
And encourages members of the public to sign the e-petition before it closes on 16th June. The e-petition can be found on the LCC website at the following link:

The Parish Council has been lobbying LCC for several years seeking traffic calming measures on the B5269 at Inskip to reduce the speed of traffic, including the deployment of speed traps, Speed Indicator Devices the refurbishment of rumble strips near the School and also for LCC to consider installing rumble strips or other speed calming measures at the approach to the village at Carrs Green. However it is clear that without strong public support LCC are unlikely to commit resources at Inskip as other locations are seen as higher priority for scarce public funds. Members of the public are also encouraged to lobby our LCC Councillor directly
