Bus travel diversions 74 and 78 service 7th-17th April
April 5th, 2025
Archway Travel have announced the following disruptions:
Swillbrook Bridge, Catforth – 7th to 17th April
Swillbrook Bridge is closed for a period of 2 weeks and during this time the 4 service will use School Lane and Woodplumpton Road and rejoin the route at The Saddle Roundabout. This diversion will add time to the journey and as such the service may be delayed but we will monitor this closely. That said we will be unable to serve The Priory Hospital for this period and customers wishing to use the service for The Priory will have to make their way to the Sitting Goose.
Copp Lane (Gt Eccleston) – 7th to 17th April
We have worked closely with Lancashire County Council to ensure Gt Eccleston do not loose their bus service completely for the 10 day period when Copp Lane is shut
The 74 service will still serve Gt Eccleston via West End and Raikes Road going towards Preston and then use White House Lane to get to Elswick and then the same on the reverse journey.
The 78 service will terminate in Elswick so any passengers wishing to use the 78 must make their way to Elswick outside the Boot and Shoe Pub (using the 74 service)
*We cannot bring the 78 through to Gt Ecc due to current delays in Lytham meaning the service is already running late and the extra distance would disrupt the service even further*
